A passionate student leader, political strategist, and community builder — BAMI has spent years at the heart of LASU's student governance. From the Faculty of Arts to student associations across the university, he has championed welfare, representation, and academic excellence. Now he's bringing that energy to the top — as your next LASUSU President.
A life built inside LASU's halls — in service, in struggle, in solidarity.
Gbadamosi Abdullahi Ayobami, popularly known as BAMI, is one of the most recognisable faces in Lagos State University's student governance landscape. A student of the Faculty of Arts, BAMI rose through the ranks of student politics with discipline, charisma, and an unshakeable commitment to the welfare of his fellow students.
As President of the Faculty of Arts, BAMI demonstrated a rare ability to unite students across departments, negotiate with administration, and deliver tangible outcomes. He is deeply embedded in the LASUSU ecosystem and has served in multiple student associations dedicated to academic development, cultural enrichment, and student rights advocacy.
His self-coined identity — PolaCasocioBust — reflects his multidimensional approach: part political strategist, part social activist, part community builder.
Not promises — proof. A history of real action inside LASU.
Led the Faculty of Arts union through a productive term — coordinating departmental events, advocating for better lecture halls, and representing Arts students at university-wide governance meetings.
Contributed to deliberations on student fee structures, campus security, and hostel allocation. Helped draft resolutions that improved communication between students and university management.
Joined and actively contributed to over 10 student associations spanning academic, cultural, and social mandates — building bridges across faculties and cementing his reputation as a unifying voice.
Began his formal student politics journey as a departmental representative, quickly gaining a reputation for accessibility, transparency, and follow-through on student complaints.
Consistently organised orientation programmes, inter-faculty dialogue sessions, and cultural events — demonstrating that good governance is also about community spirit and student belonging.
Six pillars. One mission. A better LASU for every student.
Bursary expansion, affordable hostels, 24/7 health services, and mental health support for every LASU student — because welfare is not optional.

A dedicated LASUSU careers desk connecting students to internships, graduate opportunities, and entrepreneurship seed grants.
Push for improved campus lighting, functional security infrastructure, and a student-run safety watch programme in collaboration with university management.
Inter-faculty dialogue, cultural festivals, and a truly representative LASUSU cabinet that reflects LASU's diversity — arts, science, law, engineering and beyond.
